Comments: I am looking for any and all information about my grandfather, Colonel Roy V. Porter who was the commander of the 14th Infantry Regiment during a portion of the Korean War after the regiment returned to Japan and during it's time in Korea after that. My family has virtually no information about what he did in the Korean War. My family and I would appreciate any information from anyone who served with him or can steer me in the direction to find that information.
Thank you for your time.

Comments: I discovered today that my friend Raymond Rautiala of Chicago, Illinois had passed away On December 19, 2005. Ray was instrumental in securing a memorial for the Korean War Veterans in Quincy Massachusetts, his home town. He is survived by 3 sisters all of the Quincy Area and Many far away friends he contacted by email. I spoke to Helvi Rautiala his sister of Quincy Ma.this morning and she told me the funeral for Ray will be a private one, family only. What a shame since Ray was so well known all over the USA and was such a patriotic guy. I feel it would have been fitting to include all his friends from years back all the families of men he never forget. To Ray I say this..."Goodbye you old barnstormer. May the wings of Eagles lift you so high that all you can see are your loved ones in Heaven."

Comments: I am looking for anyone who was in the 14th Infantry Regiment-Golden Dragons/ 25th Division-Tropical Lightning/ Company E/ From Ft Bragg, NC that was in Korea with my Daddy, Claybourn Franklin Faircloth, nickname was RED. He was in Korea from Jan. 1954 to Sept. 1954 then I believe he was shipped to Hawaii. A letter was written to my grandparents from a JOSEPH B. COLLIDGE, COLONEL INFANTRY COMMANDING. He is now 72 yrs. and has for several years looked for one special person his name is Arnold E. Lafferty, Jr.. Daddy said his nickname was Boodie I think. Daddy may have been transferred to Company b 27th Infantry Regiment around 1955. I am going by what he told me and what is on some of his records. Any one out there that can help me I would appreciate it. I am trying to get some things together to give him for Christmas. But knowing myself I may not keep it quite till them. My mom passed away in May 2005 and I have been trying to find some of his army buddies. Thank you in advance for any help. God Bless each and everyone of you that served and have family that are still serving. Thank you for our freedom. Jackie Faircloth Szymanski

Comments: I was assigned to Regt Supply from Dec 50 when the 34th RCt was reactivated at Camp Zama, Japan. After getting personnel the Regt moved up to Camp Fuji for advanced training. In Aug 51 the Regt went by ship and landed at Inchon and went to a staging area while waiting for all it's equipment to arrive. Shortly thereafter the Regt was redesignated the 14th Inf Regt, 25th Div and replaced the 24th Inf Regt on line in the Kumwha valley by hill 1062. I later ran a POW collection point and rotated back to the states due to point accumulation in Nov 51.

Comments: Looking for any one that served with me 1952-1953.any one that servad with the Turks at carson and vages. We hv.mort co. was attached to them.T hey were brave warriores. There seems to be getting fewer of us,so i want to say hello to all members of the 14th inf.I think we did one heck of a job until our poloticians gave away all that was fought for and died for. When i am alone and think back, tears well up in my eyes.keep the faith and god bless each of you. Floyd Wiggins
