Comments: I am looking for information about my Dad and the battle he and his unit were in, in Korea. Apparently they were hit by a missle. I did not know my Dad at all and would like to know him through the wonderful soldiers he served with.

I believe he was with a construction unit, but that's about all the information I have.

Dad was from the South side of Chicago, by the way and came from a very large, Irish family.

Comments: My Grandfather was 'Bill' Whitlock. He was a PA Nat'l Guardsman activated for duty in Korea. He turned 40 while in Korea. I have seen a picture of him aboard a self-propelled 105mm howitser. The gun had cartoon on it of Felix the Cat and the caption "Commie-Chaser". Records indicate his Port of Embarkation was FT Lawton, WA. He received the Bronze Star for his service. I have a copy of a Letter of Commendation for the 176TH Armored Field Artillery BN and from Lt Col FIIGON, CDR. I'll try to attach to the this site.

Comments: My father-in-law, Raymond Zednik, passed away some time ago. He rarely spoke of the war, and we have little information about his service. We ran across some old pictures and unit patches from his Korean War days, and have been able to piece together that he was with the 176th as a forward observer during 1951-1952. He was from Cleveland, Ohio.

I would like to see if I can get any additional information about his service. Anything would help, and would be greatly appreciated by his family.

Although a handful of us were Regular Army, the battalion was from the

NG. Being from Pennsylvania, the battalion had a great many Germans and
Poles in it.

For example, the Chief Gunnery Sergeant was a Sgt. Schott, a real
Prussian-style drill master! We were 1st Corps artillery, along with
"Neverdie", a 155 self propelled outfit, and "River," a Korean 105
split-trail battalion.

Specifically, we were assigned in support of the 12th and 15th ROK Inf
