Comments: Thank you all who have served! My Uncle Kenneth was killed in action on September 16, 1950 near Changnyong, Korea. He was 19 years young. He grew up on a mountain in West Virginia and was the oldest of 13 children. My father took over the role of eldest son when Kenneth died. We do not have very many pictures of him but treasure those we do. I am trying to gather together photos and stories of Kenneth from those who knew him. I would greatly appreciate anyone who served with him and knew him personally to share with us their memories of Uncle Kenneth. He was never married and it is our duty to preserve his memory for future generations so that we never forget that he gave all. If anyone happens to have any photos of him, copies would be wonderful to have. Again, thank you all for serving! May God bless you and keep you.

Comments: I am looking for information on my Father, CPT Paul L. Hopkins. I am writing a book on his mililtary career and hope to learn any stories about him during the Korean War. He deployed with the 23d Inf Regmt in Jan, 1950 and stayed with the unit until Jul 1951. He was a Platoon Leader, Company E, 2/23d, and served in HQ Co, 2/23d. I believe he was also a company commander during this period.

Comments: Looking for anyone that may have served with my father, Kenneth Kruse, in Company B from December 1950 thru February 1951, when he was injured in the battle at Chipyongni.
My Dad would never talk about his service in Korea. A few weeks before he died at age 76 in August 2007, he finally broke down and told me about a tragic event where his best buddy was killed by a fellow Company member (not with friendly fire).
I am curious if anyone else witnessed that event.
Would really love to hear from anyone that may have served with my Dad.

He had retired from Pacific Telephone in the late 80's and I met him then. We both had l951 Allards and raced them in many events here in California. Never much talked about his service and I regret now that I didn't quiz him more. He had written several papers that he wanted to place in a book about his service and I hope to read that soon. Comments: I am looking for any information on my grandfather, PFC George L. Gordon. He was killed on 5/15/1951 in Chaun Ni.
Would like to meet with anyone who knew him. Also, I would like to know if he was awarded any medals or such. If so how can I go about finding out how I could get replacements (if possible). A friend told me that I needed his 2-14 form. If so, how do I get that? ANY HELP that you could give me would be appreciated.
I have been searching on my own for many years, but have never found anything.
Thank You, Jennifer Zetts

Comments: To those who may have met or knew my father, I just returned from the "states" where I, along with my siblings, both his families, and countless friends just buried my Dad: John Milton Seybert Jr.. As some of you know Bud suffered a major heart attack back in 2000; the prognosis at that time was not good, but my pop was a fighter and he took nearly 9 more years.
On Tuesday last, the 17th of February Pop's heart gave up that struggle and he drew his last breath holding my sister Michelle's hand, that was at 15:09 CST.
John Bud Seybert Jr. was born on the 17th of December 1928 in Granite City, IL. He graduated from Granite City High School in 1945, before securing employment as a machinist at the American Steel Foundry in West Granite where he met Pete Condis, who later married my Dad's oldest sister Ellen.
In 1950 Bud was drafted into the United States Army's, 23rd Infantry, where he served with distinction in Korea as a Staff Sergeant. He saw combat at "Bloody Ridge" and "Heart Break Ridge", where he was wounded and won the Purple Heart.
After surviving the war with an honorable discharge, Bud returned to Granite City where he met and married Beverly Hall in 1955. Fathering five children in 24 years of marriage.
Bud graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1956 with a Bachelor's degree in Geology (a passion he pursued all his life) and went on to employment at the Defensive Mapping Agency as a cartographer, a position he held for 30 years, until he retired in 1986.
For many years Bud, "ran the desk", managed Bowland Bowling Lanes out on route 203 as a second job and a social outlet for his gregarious personality.
In 1988, Bud married Margaret Dorch in a ceremony in Las Vegas, NV. They have resided in Granite City, IL. for the last 20 years, where they were active in many veterans organizations, including VFW, American Legion and DAV Post 53, where Bud served as President until his death. He was a hero, my Pop! And he will be sorely missed by me, my siblings, both his families, and countless friends.
