Comments: Just wondering if anyone would have served with my father (Neale Hamilton) He was in Fox Co 23rd RCT 2nd Inf Div from Jan. 1951 to the end of the battle for Heartbreak Ridge. He was a Sgt. He was in the battles of Chip Yong, May massacre, Twin Tunnels, Heartbreak and Bloody Ridge, to name a few.

He talks of a couple of times they had to go behind enemy lines, once to rescue some men on a hill at night. Had to fight their way in and out.

Howard Gaston Elder, nickname "lucky". he went missing january 28, 1951, and the last we heard was that he was on a mail truck and it got blown up. Comments: Kenneth Lee Green was my uncle. He was wounded and captured and imprisoned in an unknown POW camp. His remains were not returned. My grandmother was given a bronze star and flag in his honor. She was told by others that were in the same POW camp with Kenneth, that he was brave and helped others even though his own wounds eventually led to his death. Kenneth died on January 17, 1951. Any information would be appreciated.

John Grover Lakin-MIA

Comments: I am looking for any information on my uncle John G. Lakin, 23rd INF RGT 2nd INF DIV. He was taken POW May 18, 1951 and subsequently listed MIA and his remains have never been found. My father passed away and had many questions about his brother that went unanswered I would like to clear things up on exactly what took place on that day. Red Cross reported he was last seen being stripped and beaten by his chinese captors, it was assumed he was then executed and burned. G-Son of Harold Tremble H Co

Comments: My Grandfather who will be turning 75 this month was part of H-Co 4th Platoon Machine Gunners of the 23rd Infantry Regiment "Tomahawks" of the 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean war.

If there is anyone that sees this that use to be part of his company that remembers him, or is a good friend and wishes to contact him on his birthday 31st of July I would love it if you did.

I am now part of the military and spent a year in Korea visiting as many of the places that he had told me about where he fought and where he had been on the pennisula while I was stationed there.

I was in Korea during the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War, I see it as a rememberance other than an anniversary knowing of all the fine men that lost their lives fighting for the freedom of the South.

On his birthday I will be sending him a piece of the wire that now sits at the 38th Paralell or better know as the DMZ. It was presented to me by the President of South Korea and I feel he deserves this piece of wire more than myself.

For all those who served with H-Co 4th Platoon Machine Gunners, thank you for keeping my grandfather safe, if it wasn't for him, I would not be here today.

Comments: William is now deceased and the only information I have is from his DD 214. He was wounded on Sept 1, 1950 at Naktong River, also on Nov. 28, 1950, and on Mar 8, 1951. He told me there was a book available of the battle history of the 23d Regiment, but I don't know if it was a history of E Co. only or if it was for the whole regiment. If anyone has any information regarding the availability of this battle history book I would appreciate hearing from you.
