Comments: Was a mechanic on old half tracks w/quad fifties and later the M19(?) with twin forties.Went to I Corp NCO Academy at Uijongbu. Motor Officer was Lt. Bernie (?). We moved the battery while I was there to another location by manually lifting the quanset huts onto a flatbed to move.Still have a picture of that from the Army Times. Would like to get a picture of the unit crest...crimson background w/ three gold griffons (?) and hear from anyone I may have known during that time.

Keywords: My uncle Eugene Manuel Carbajal passed over to "the other side" on July 31, 2007. I don't know much about his Korean War service other than that he transported over and back on the Brewster and Collins, and that he was attached to the 24th Division, serving in Field Arty (first AAA, then automatic weapons ... canon and quad .50s). This is a very long shot but did anyone serve with him ? He was born in Phoenix, AZ. thx, Robert

Comments: My name is Michael Kemp. My father, Lt Col Felton A Kemp, served in Korea through the 1950s, served in Vietnam, and retired in 1972. He was one of a handful of African American officers serving during that time. He was a Lt serving in Korea right around 54, 55. I have many photos that he took during his time there. He passed away about 3 years ago. I am trying to learn more about his experiences in both Korea and Vietnam and would be willing to share his photographs with anyone interested. Feel free to call me at 704-650-3517.

Comments: Would like to hear from anyone who made the trips thru Kumwha/Kumwha Valley and that area with 26 AAA half tracks on Task Force Operations into enemy territory. Time frame : spring & summer , 1951. Some were with ROK groups , some with 6th Tank , some with small US infantry groups, and some alone. This would include any infantrymen and air strike pilots that recalls accompanying the two and three half track teams conducting these operations involving the 26thAAA Quad fifty half tracks. Later , in winter thru Jan 52 ,on an unknown mountain top ,MLR , with 24th Div firces on left , ROK forces on right flank. I was a gunner on , & later leader of "1-How " ( my halftrack and radio designation). A big thanks to all. And I express great appreciation to the few who did not accompany us , but were assigned to help extract us from the valleys when or if we became encircled. Especially to members of the Wolfhounds , who waited at the old concrete factory/railroad tracks , our line of departure on some occasions. It was good to know you were there.... Ken Marsh , I -How , 26th AAA , now retired.

Comments: Does anyone in 26th AAA remember my Dad, Herbert C. Kirkland? I am putting together a scrapbook of his Korean war years. I am doing this for him as he is not into computers.
He first went into Korea, I think around July 6th of 1950, with the 26th AAA, not sure, but I think he was with the 26th at Taegon and the fight for the Pusan perimeter. Then he got transferred to the 6th tank battallion for the remainder of the war.

Commanded by a LTC Roy A. Tate. Line batteries had half-tracks, with

called "Bloody Buckets".
Attached or assigned (I forget which), to the 24th US Infantry Division
while in country. I remember reaching the "Iron Triangle" and even
further north, but that was some time ago. I left the unit late in 1951.
