ASA DI

Comments: I was a 058 in Germany and Turkey and Texas from 57-60. I am now interested in ASA DI's that were worn in the 50's and thru the 60's. I was wondering if anyone at this great website would have any early DI's from the Korean war that were defintely ASA and not MI that they might want to sell. Many thanks, Jon

Looking for people who served with my Dad in Korea Nov 51- Nov 52

Comments: My Dad, Don Fregeau, served in the 329th from about Nov 1951 to Nov 1952. His unit was near Ouijanbu a good bit of that time. He was always amazed how near the 4077 MASH and his unit were, even though there was no 4077 unit, because all the MASH units there in Korea started with 8. The unit, at one time, was nearly halfway between the 8063d and the 8055th.

My Dad served in Korea Nov 51-Nov 52

Comments: My Dad, Don Fregeau, served in Korea from November of 1951 to November of 1952. He passed from this life in 1999. Would like to get in touch with anyone that served with him. I can only remember one name so far: Jim Norbey, who lived in Iowa someplace. Also children of those that served with him.

ASA 329th Advance Detachment Yonchon

Comments: I was in the 329th advance detachment from 10/52 to 9/53. At that time we were transferred back to the main company. Do you have any contact or info with or about any of the personnel of the Yonchon unit? I also am interested in any info regarding ASA reunions, especially any info if 329th vets have reunions. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Operation Southern Pines

Comments: I served in Europe with 328th CRC, but trained with another unit before it went to KLorea. Don't remember whether it was 327th or 329th. Orva Morris was stateside Captain. Went through Operation Southern Pines near Ft. Bragg.

Comments: Please help me find any friends or war buddies stationed at Fort Bliss between 1950 to 1953. And if anyone knew my father John Hopson, he was in Korea, and worked in the mess hall. Red Cross iinformed him of his new baby daughter while in Korea. He had a buddy by the name of Bob Cooper whose nickname was Cookie because he worked in the mess hall too. I have a picture or my father and some of his buddies in front of a truck.

Comments: 329th CRC July 4, 1953 until Nov 10 1954. Was also on 3 intecept test sites.

Comments: I was in the 329th company from June 1953 until sometime in early 1954. Afterward I was on a site somewhere North of the company. The site was on a river near a large concrete bridge that was surpriseing left standing. I can't remember any names of the area but it was near what is now the DMZ. I would like to hear from anyone that was on this site or in the company. Thanks!

Korean Veteran Recognition

Comments: My father is a proud veteran of the 329th. I am a history teacher at Clinton Central High School near Michigantown, Indiana. During the afternoon of Friday 12 April 2002, our students are having a special day of learning and recognition over the Korean War. Many veterans from Central Indiana will be there on that afternoon interacting with our students. This is an open invitation to all Korean War veterans to join us to help teach our children about a chapter in our history that needs to be remembered. Free meals are included. Comments: looking for my Dad's army buddies from 329th comm reco, from June 1952 - November 1953, Jack Hickman Charlston , West Virginia Dean Davis Bob Hack Larry Lupo Phoenix City, Alabama (sin city) George Forsythe, Waterviele, New York my Dad is Bob Hesse, tall thin, great softball windmill pitcher broke his ankle in Korea during a baseball game. I don't know the correct spelling of the area in Korea, but if it's spelled like it sounds it would be Wish on bu about 40 miles north of Seoul.I have some great pictures that a friend of mine is trying to up date and scan them
