Looking for William Sommers

Comments: I am trying to reconnect with an old Army buddy, William Sommers (could be Sommer, Summer or Summers). We met at Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX. He was a volunteer from New Jersey in 1949. B Battery, 68th AAA Gun Bn. We reconnected in Pusan in Feb 1951. We moved to Inchon to the Triangle Central Front Supporting I Corp. I was wounded and discharged from the Army. William's last known address was in New Jersey. He would now be about 80 years old. If anyone has any information about him please let me know. Contact me at kennyktakaki@sbcglobal.net

Comments: Would like to hear from Joe Quaranto and others who were present when my wife Betty were married in El Paso, TX just six days before shipping out to Washington. I went with the 15th AAASP Batry B to Yakima, WN.

Keywords: USS Gen Black(almost disaster)to and from Japan. Yong Do island. Taegu to Yalu river September to December 1850. Last unit to cross at Anju supporting 2nd Div. Fired from bogey wheels and quad fifties. We watched the gooks coming five abreast using the range scope. Engineers blew bridge after we crossed.

TIMOTHY REESE-HQ. BATTERY-WATER TRUCK ACCIDENT 1954

Comments: Looking for anyone who remembers Timothy Reese and the water truck accident that killed him. I need to confirm his death in order to get my pension for PTSD. The VA says there are no records of Tim dying in Korea. I know he died, I was there immediately after the water truck rolled obver rounding a curve. He was a close friend and I remember the scene very vividly all the time!

Memories of 1956

Comments: In 1956 I was with the Australian Signals unit located at Inchon, down the bottom of the hill from C Battery of the 68th.

Visited C Bty on several occasions, managed to get a decent meal (we lived out of cans, basically) and met a number of great guys.

Going thru some old photos today found one of three C Battery guys enjoying a beer with us at the Australian camp - their names are ROSEN (no first name known); Keith SCHUMACKER, George DYER.

Best wishes from down under to any of them still around, and to all other members of the 68th. You were a fine unit, and we were honoured to be alongside you.

Comments: August angerame medic is now living at the northport VA nursing home in long island bldg 8 nursing home 3. he is doing wery well but has very little memory left.HE speaks fine and is in great spirits. he can still recognize faces. We visit him regulary and he is getting great care.
