Robert Ryan wrote on 2002-11-25 19:31:53.0

Comments: I landed in Kwagalien going to NAS Agana, Guam for assignment Oct 1958. I surviced mainly VW type squadrons in Guam. I left in Oct 1959 on the USS Shanks Troop Transport. Pulled in to Kwagalien that same month on my way to San Francisco for discharge from active duty.

All I remember was we could walk from, the airstrip or from the ship dock, to the EM club and be drinking our first beer and still beat the bus.

Good luck, Bob Ryan, USNR, AK3 CalCougar2002@Yahoo.com

Leona Greene wrote on 2002-05-29 10:35:14.0

Comments: I am trying to find any one who may have known my father. He died in 1970 and would like to learn more about him. I do have a photo of him on the ship and on the back it said Subic Bay the Phillipines. Hope I spelt that right. There is another photo of him with 2 other men, unknown. I do know that his home base was Hawaii, but was sent overseas at some point. I do not have any other information on him, I heard that the records were destroyed in the fire in St. Louis. He was 5 ft 10 in, dark sandy brown hair, and green eyes. He had 3 tattoos, two on his shoulders with my moms name in one (Arlene) the other with his name (Denny) then he had a diamond on his left arm where his watch would cover. His nik name was The Breeze.

Denny Lee Greene b. 9-19-1935 d. 12-8-1970 SSN: 518-34-6824

Any help in connecting to anyone that may remember him would be a blessing.

Blessing to all of you, Leona R Greene (daugter)
