Comments: I believe my uncle was with the Signal Corp. (He later was an engineer fot the Bell Telephone Co.) -

I have a Korean silver teapot from the '50's that says:

"COMMEMORATION - TO MAJOR JOSEPH W. KELLY - FROM 73rd SIG. CONS. BN. ROKA"

I'm just trying to find info on what that might all be about -

Any insight into the abbreviations or such commemorative gift routines from Rep. Of Korea Army would be appreciated. My uncle passed away 35 years ago and I have many things from his tour of duty then - films too! - I'd just like to learn more -

Thank You

Comments: I was born in Korea, in 1959. Adopted in 1966. Found biological mom, in Korea, in 1986, while I was stationed at Kwang-ju AB. She gave me a picture of my biological father and his two sons. My understanding is that Perry had two assignments to Korea and that he was there when I was born. Does anybody know him? He worked in the commissary/bx as an MP, and my mother was a cashier, there.

She couldn't remember the name of the base...it no longer exists. She couldn't remember his first name..possibly Alan? Alonzo? She couldn't remember what state he was from, either...Her name was Jung-Ja Lee. Any information about this matter, please email me. Thank You.

Comments: I joined the 514th in the Spring of 1953. I still remember the cold ride from Pusan to Masan. I was so stiff, they had to carry me off the truck. We were attached to POW Command and when the POWs from our camp were "liberated", we were sent forward to DMZ at Munsan. Still remember "Operation Little Switch" and "Operation Big Switch", trading their POWs for ours.
