Comments: Joined W-1-5, Heavy Machinegun platoon in January 1955 for the 5th Marine's prep to return to the "Land-of-the-roundeyes". The group I was in, came from Middle Camp Fuji Japan, 3rd RCT,3rd Marine Division. I was in Anti-Tank Co, (75 mm Recoiless Rifles)there. Spent many days down in Inchon on working parties getting our Regiment ready to go home. It was colder than hell. I hated that cold weather. Even the Red Cross out of Ascom City refused to come down because it was too cold for their people. What a joy it was leaving there and boarding our ship. I got some photos of that. Arrive San Diego on March 17th, St Pat's Day and we had our big parade in San Diego before heading north to our new home in CamPen, Camp Margarita.I was a Cpl. then. Anyone remember those days, contact me before my memory goes out. I have forgotten names of my buddies, Please forgive me. We had some fun during that brief time there. Anyone remember all that beef-stew they fed us for a week straight? HA!

Comments: My father, Eugene Thomas Pulliam, Frankfort, Kentucky, served in Korea during 1952 - 53 and was a Sergeant. I have heard him mention that he was at "Punch Bowl". Do you remember my dad? If you do, please let me know. Daddy has been trying for a while to get his medals but has been told that his records were destroyed by fire. Can anyone help? He did receive the 50th Anniversary Medal a couple of weeks ago but he sure deserves the others, too. Thanks.

Comments: Hello. I am the commander of Camps Long and Eagle, both established in 1954 near Wonju. I'm interested in any one who may have fought here or near here. I'm even more interested if you would be willing to discuss coming back to Korea for the professional benefit of my soldiers. Thanks, Major(P) Ron Haynes

Comments: I am assisting my father James H. Watts US ARMY. He was drafted and completed basic training in North Carolina. I was named for his buddy Cullen Waldrop from Memphis, Tennessee. They rode the troop train to Fort Ord right out of basic and the train was stopped for supplies(?) early one mornig when Cullen said he could see his mother's house. ( He was not allowed to visit her)
On arrival at Fort Ord they were shipped north to Washinton State to supervise training for the Illinois Nat. Guard and back to Fort Ord for overseas deployment. They arrived in Korea in January 1953 in the 7th Infantry 31st or 32nd Charlie Company. (Cullen passed away afew years ago in Memphis after returning.
My dad saw service on "Old Baldy" and with the quatermaster corps at Head Quarters after or before "combat" duty. He only had a very few days left when the so called peace treaty was signed and his time accumulated slower requiring him to be on the line till November 1953.
After shipping out he was assigned to a base in Arkansas and rode the "SANTA CLAUSE EXPRESS" train to be home for Christmas that year.
If anyone remembers him or was stationed there from January to November 1953 please feel free to contact me at an updated address. I had posted a previous request but lost my e-mail site. Dolly Sipprelle also has a post and pictures worth checking out.
