Comments: My uncle was PFC Frank B. Carver. He died of wounds in hostile action on June 10, 1953. I was born a year later, almost to the day. I never had the chance to know my uncle and would love hearing from anyone who remembers him or knew him. My brother was named after him. I am very proud to be his niece and would treasure any memories his friends may have of him. Thank you and may God bless all of you.

Comments: I am a 45 years old adoptee from Seoul Korea. I know my father was in Korea in 1954. I was born in April of 55. The name that I have say's I was Harry Kim. I was placed with a place called World Vision on Nov. 29,1958. I believe my mothers last name was Kim, but just might of been a made up name. It is presummed that I was with her for 3 years. And that my fahter must of left Korea in , or aroud Nov. 1958. He must of been stationed in or aroud Seoul. I am Half Black and Korean. I am so tired of searching for my family here in the States. I think that you men should of tried to make sure any children you had over in Korea were able to find you. I am not an angry man just tired and want to know who I am and my father is. If there are any Aferican American soliders out there who might know who I am PLEASE PLEASE e-mail me!! I have several pictures of me as a 3 year old. They say that my mother and I must have stayed close to a base area for me of to lasted 3 years. Also have a scar on inner thigh.

THOMAS (TOM) Bisping wrote on 2000-04-18 21:44:37.0
Comments: I am presently organizing research for a book on Korea from '54 to present. The thrust of the book, will be on armed incidents, guard post duties, firefights, and any contact with North Korean Forces. Looking for stories from Infantrymen, FA Forward Observers and 4P1/4P3, Ground Surveillance Radar, JSA, Tunnel Neutralization Team, even Aviators DMZ flights, and tankers on Western Corrider Duty. I'm hoping this book will be an educational tool for the rest of America that thinks the war ended in '53, because the last episode of MASH said it did. Also, as of 1995, The veterans of Foriegn Wars, successfully lobbied congress to amend their eligibility rules. Any service member who served 30 days consecutively or 60 days non-consecutively on the ground, air, or territorial waters of the Korean peninsula, from 1949 to a date to be determined, is now eligible for membership. If you haven't done so already, join this organization.

Comments: I was stationed at Komaki AFB in Japan from June'54 through June'56. My unit was the 9th Fighter Bomber Squardon, commanded by Lt.Col. Edmund B. Edwards, a West Pointer who was a very skilled administrator and ace pilot. My extensive searches failed to find any information on his career. My interest is his military career from '56 through retirement and thereafter. I think he was a texan. I thought he was slated to become one of the Air Force's distinguished generals, but I cannot find any information on him. Please help with information on his bio. after '56 until...
