Comments: I was deployed to Kangnung (K18) several times in 1967, 1968, and 1969. I maintained the Crypto Equipment in the Mobile Van at the top of the hill. Looking for anyone that remembers me to see if you will vouch for me that I was there so that my claim with the VA can be approved for exposure to Agent Orange resulting in Prostate Cancer. I would be all set if the Military kept copies of TDY orders, wouldn't I??? Looking for TSgt Leonard who was there with me and SSgt Harold F Hannon III. Thanks

Agent Orange and other toxins |

William Kenney wrote on 2009-11-02 15:37:57.0
Comments: If you were in Korea in the 60s, 70s, or eightys and have medical problems but are being denied by the VA,don't go it alone. We are looking to help our men to hopefully get the benifits they deserve. There are no guarenteers but if we can document a large number of cases to show congress it is not just a few men not happy. Please describe your issues and what the VA has done for you. Have you witnessed the spraying of any toxic material or used it yourself that would be important information. If you know of any issues that should be brought forward, now is the time to help our cases. Let us all stand together and help each other. We fought together so it is time to stand together.

Comments: our co.was seperate from the rest {a,b,,hq ] who were all at blue lancer valley.cant think of the name of the coumpound or the little village across the rice patty from the front gate.we had a rear gate where mamasan sold her wares .pulled mostly guard duty on a fdc bunker down in a valley and 3 tank sites on top of hills with a bunker under them .they all faced n. korea and there was a range card for targets.only the turret worked and it was hand crank. i got in a lot of troublee over there, that rice wine was addictive.awol a couple times. they court martialed me once but i was found innocent. ended my tour with a tail gunner with me at alll times.. i believe col. black was the commander.he helped me a lot.we got extended for 3 extra mo. so spent 16mo. 27 days there.jan 61-june 62.
any info or contacts would be appreacited..

Jim Russell wrote on 2009-10-26 15:41:47.0
Comments: Was feeling nostalgic about my time in Korea (11/66 to 10/67) and I found this web site. Havent found any of my buddies but it has been fun reading some of the comments. I was in Camp Casey, Company C, 1st Bn, 31 St Inf, 7Th Div. Served with some great guys (McCormick, Huddleston, McKenzie, Perry, Dixon, Deleston, Garner, Andrews-sorry guys cant remember you all) and only have wonderful memories. It may have been to cold or to hot and we may have humped to many of those hills but all and all I wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe one. In hindsight, I wish that I had realized how wonderful it was being 21 and enjoyed the experience a bit more. We worked hard (at times) but when we went into Tongduchon we sure knew how to have a great time. Would be nice to reminisce with old buddies from Charlie company.
