Comments: I would like any past members of the 6th. to contact me. We are in the process of locating all past members that served with the 134th Avn where the 6th. was taken from and sent to Korea in Dec of 67 to Camp Red Cloud(Airfield). This unit has a lot of history that needs to be preserved and that is what we are attempting to do. R.Friend I remrmber you.

Ken Kosters, entry 462, send me an e-mail if you see this. You don't have an e-mail address on your entry. I haven't seen or heard from you in 38 years. I partied with Don Gibbens back in the early 80's and he is the only one I've met since 68.

Comments: Had a great time in Korea. Met a bunch of great people from all over the country. USA of course. Had a hard time leaving all the fun over there. Spent my last night in country in the ville. My ride never picked me up so I had to walk through the gate without a pass. As luck would have it the MP turned around as I was walking through the gate and never saw me. I ended up missing my flight and had to sit in the airport til the next day before I could get home. I see that a guy I was stationed with has an entry #462. Ken Kosters, if you see this send me an e-mail. You don't have one on your entry.

Comments: I served with Btry A 2/71 (HAWK) 38 Arty 1967-1968 I was there when the USS Pebelo was taken by the north koreans and the blue house raid happened. The U. S. Government brought agent orange to Korea after these incidents and most of our bases were sprayed. When the truck came to spray our base I was required to draw a weapon and ride on top of the truck and now I have prostate cancer, diabities, high blood pressues with secondary problems atributted to each. I have been trying to do research on the units within the 38 Arty and not have much luck. I am looking to hear from other people who were assigned to these units to find out how we are doing. The VA is not going to take us seriously unless we stick together. We need to support each other with " buddy letters " and building a history of who we were and what we did. There is a rich history of the first cav, the second and seventh inf, richely deserved, but nothing on our units. We have a page for each unit under eight army on the webpage www.koreaatourofduty.org which allows each person to post their information and any photos they might have and their memories, if they are willing to write them. We need to band together to help esch other. I will help anyone who wants to contact me directly with problems with the VA.

Comments: Hi, I was with "A" company 3/23rd, 2nd ID from 1965 to 1966. When I first arrived I was in the 1st Calvary. In 1965 we were taken over by the 2nd infantry and the 3/23rd moved to the north side of the Imjin. Headquarters was at one camp but "A" company was located in a smaller compound by itself. I think HHC was at Camp Dodge but I don't remember the name of the camp where "A" company was located. I've seen photos of Camp Wentzel and it looks like the camp where we, "A " company, were. Does anyone know anything about this? In the photo of Camp Wentzel, it says that "A" company 2/9 "Manchus" was at Wentzel. I think the photo was taken in 1969 so it may be that they replaced A 3/23rd. I wish I knew. I was FDC for the mortar squad in the weapons platoon when I first got there. Later, I was allowed to work at my true MOS which was a combat medic and was attached to "A" company which was located down the way from HHC 3/23rd. Thanks Ralph Alves

Comments: My husband wouldn't talk about anything that happened when he was in Korea from September 1966 until October 1967. It made it difficult to be married to him since communication is an important part of marriage--or I used to believe it was anyway. Just wanted some input from anonymous soldiers who might have served in Korea at the same time as my husband did about what it was like--the good, the bad and the ugly including the bars, etc.

Comments: Looking to hear from anyone in that unit around the the same time. In '67 had band leader that was a Warrant officer W2 Josef A Orosz. Have a picture of the band practicing at camp Ross in the May1,1968 issue of Indian Head news paper. Other band names remembered are as follows- Gay Vaness,David Sugura, Dave King,David Lyons. One note to remember is the night our supply "hootch" caught fire and burned all our equipment. Anyone that was there at that time, please contact me, would like to hear from anybody.

Comments: I was stationed at Camp Santa Barbara from Oct. 1966 -67. as a donut dollie. I have not ever met another person who served in this position, or kool-aid cutie ever. Just wondered what happened to all of us. I became a high school teacher, taught for 35 years and just retired in June of 05.
