In Memory of My father John Joseph Binetti BMC

I am sending this message out to all my fathers shipmates that may come upon this to let anyone know that may be still be with us from the commissioned crew of the Douglas H. Fox DD779 that he spoke of- that he has passed away on November 9, 2007. I miss him terribly. To those that are resting in the China Sea My father is on his way to be with you soon! His ashes are awaiting a ship to go to the South China Sea where his wishes are to be scattered among and laid to rest with his buddies he was unable to save during a battle during the Korean War. I can still remember the 12 men's names. He was however able to save 2 men's lives and was highly decorated for that. He will always be My Dad and my Hero. I wrote him a poem and was honored to have it published in a hard copy book called "Timeless Voices"- although away most of the time serving our country his willingness to serve taught me respect and his acomplishments gave me encouragement. Hopefully "My Dad, My Hero" will bring an inspiration and an emotional sensitivity to all that read it. Here it is:

MY DAD MY HERO From the colonist who rebelled, to the soldier of today, you're my hero, Dad I know not what else to say. You sailed many seas of blue and deserve tribute that is due, So very proud a daughter I am and Dad, I sincerely love you. You are my American Hero,Dad, your devotion is second to none, Your courage and bravery alone caused many battles to be won. We have beaten the forces of evil and carried our flag far and wide. Looking For Information

Comments: I am looking for information concerning the deployment of the U.S.S. Cabot (CVL-28) 1952-1956. My friend Pete is being denied membership to the Veterans Of Foreign Wars. We can not find records of deployment during the time frame 1952-1956.Also were there any campaign medals for that time? He needs this information as his records were lost in a fire. We also can not locate any confidential records or medical records. I would for ever be in your debt of gratitude. Thank you for your time. I will await to hear.

He was an excellent Tenor Saxophone Player in the Navy Band. He is very sick now and I would be honored to hear from anyone who knew him then and may have served with him. USS Sea Ray 1946

Comments: I am working on a biography for my husband. He served as a young medical/pharmacy technician. He has a barely-visible photo of the "USS Sea Ray" but I would like to find a photo I can see. He already served in WWII, was recalled from the Reserves twice for Korean duty. This surely is not as significant as info re those who did not return, MIAs, etc. but I would like to get more info and photo if possible. Want to know how Korean War Navy admiral Sohn Won Yil died

Comments: All my life people called me a Korean War orphan. I grew up in Taiwan. I want to know who my father is. Alledgedly he was a high ranking navy in Korean war, having to do with the Navy Commander sohn Won Yil and it seems he was killed in a friendly fire by US, having something to do with US president Harry Truman. Mylife has been shrouded in mythtry and I want to know more in details. Can you tell me how Sohn Won Yil died? I was alledgedly born on 3-6-54 and all my life (in US since 8-77) has been intricably related to this 38 parellel concept and I want to know why? Please help me! Comments: I am trying to locate anyone that may have served in the Navy with my father, William J. Cassidy. He entered the Navy 5 Oct 1951 from Boston, MA and did his basic in Bainbridge, MD. He was deployed to Korea from Mar 52-May 53. He got out of the Navy in Sept 55. He has been reminiscing lately of those times and men, and I would love to put him in touch with them. After the Navy, my dad entered the Air Force, retiring in Jan 1975. He has been married to my mom, Marilyn Cassidy, for over 50 years. He has four children, and three grandchildren. He is alive and kicking in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
