Comments: I am looking for anyone who served with my father. I don't know what his rank was at the time. He was an electrician in the Navy. His name is JIM GARLOCK and he was stationed in Japan.I don't know where exactly in Japan. It's been a long time since I've seen the pictures. Two things that stick in my mind the most were the group pictures and the pictures of him holding puppies that belonged to the dog that lived on base. Also, his best friend was named WYNN. Idon't even know the name of the ship he travelled on. Can anyone help me?

Comments: I am trying to help my father in-law find a couple of his shipmates that he has lost contact with. Their names are Paul Kostora and Alvin Jenkins. Kostora may be in the Ohio or Michigan area. Jenkins is probably in the Virginia area. They would both be in or near their 70s. Any info greatly appreciated.

Comments: My father's name is Thomas Aylward. He served as a fighter pilot with the Navy during the Korean War. He does not talk about it. My Dad is dying and i just read in a DAV magazine about the Korean War Veterans Medal. I would like to get this for my father. I told him about the medal and he said he doesn't need any medal. I believe he does. What paperwork do I need - and how do I go about getting this much deserved medal for my Dad. He has got much longer - please answer me as soon as possible. Thank you so much!!!!!!

I've been looking for quite a while and come up empty each time. I look for things on "Massey" and nothing comes back. Where can I look to find good information?

General Search
I am interested in finding info on naval air operations during the
Korean War and in particular I'd like to delve into the accounts of
those pilots KIA. Is there any place online that I might find or
request such information?
My compliments on the wonderful presentation you and your group of
volunteers have put together on this topic.

I know my grandfather (Edward Joseph Cimburek) was in the Navy. He was
located in the Phillipines during the war. He was with 13 other people
when thier sea-plane crashed. This is what I found out. A sea-plane
usually went on a flight with 14 crew members. On that particular day 2
people called in sick.
One however, decided he could fly. The other one didn't go. The signals
on the plane indicated water below. (That was the only part of land they
could safely come down on.) They were having trouble with their engine.
Instead of landing they crashed into the side of Mt. Baton. Those men
were only 30 days from coming home. I hope this helps. This is all I
know. Thanks for your time and your help.
Sincerely,
Anna Cimburek
