Comments: I would like to hear from anyone who knew my husband Rich Retter--he has had Alzheimers the past 12 years and lives at home with me. In early stages of disease, he must have destroyed most everything connected with his service time or we haven't found it yet.

Was part of the crews that went on the islands after the bombs we exploded to retrive data boxes and such. Would like to hear from others that were there. Comments: My father, William M. Durden, passed away this past June. In his belongings, I found a photo of The Bairoko. My Mother tells me this is the ship my father served on during his time in Korea. I am trying to verify this, as I had always thought he had served on another ship. Does anyone know where I might be able to look up names of crew members during this time? Or better yet, is there anyone that served on The Bairoko with my father? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would very much appreciate having the chance to talk with anyone who knew my father. This is especially important to me as the first anniversary of his passing will be 31 Aug. He died from complications of Parkinson's Disease. I would very much like to get information I could put in my family history and so others in the family will get a chance to know him. Thanks so very much for any help you could give me!
