John Lewis- artist on U.S.S. Bremerton in Korea

Comments: Looking for anyone who knew John Lewis who served on the U.S.S. Bremerton in the Korean war. He was the ships artist and painted maps on the walls of the ship and various other art projects. He died in a car accident a couple of years after leaving the navy. I have read several letters that he wrote and he sounds like a great guy.

Comments: Hi, just found this site. I served my first two years in Hawaii and came aboard the Bremerton in Long Beach 1954 and discharged in 1956. I was in the Post Office with Richard Zeggers and David Nitheway (?) Does any one remember us and where Richard and David can be located. What A Surprise

Comments: It's pure luck! Thought about my 51-55 service SK3 aboard CA130. One bad memory. While at NTC(1951, Co 551)I was a victim of a shakedown for $150 by the Chief. He was to pay back the money the following week. He never did. I've carried this memory around for 52 years and always felt if the oppoutunity ever presented itself, I'd apoligize. Well, here it is. I'm really sorry!
