Comments: Was plane Director on Hanger Deck Abt 07/1952 to 05/1954. Last names of mates I served with V2 Div. COUCH,SIPES,SPICKLER,SHELLHASE,KING,EVANS,GAMACHEGRIM,HICKEY,FIGARSION,McKLUSKY,MICHELLE,BRINKMAN. V1 Div. DAVIS,FOSBERG,PAVNICKA,GOLDSMITH, There are many others that I served with. I served in the Atlantic Ocean. I had many friends & great memories. The Navy waas good to me. We had the best cook in the Navy when I served everyday was like Thanksgiving, but you had better eat everything you took to your plate. However when he left we got the worst cook. Comments: 2nd Division from 51-54. Played on the Mindoro baseball team, coached by Walt Pryor from Tenn. Be nice to hear from some shipmates.

Comments: My father was assigned to the U.S.S. Mindoro in April of 1953. He served in Korea. His name is Maurice Joseph Desmarais. Does anybody know or remember him. If so please email me. Thanyou very much.

V-2 Div

Comments: I served as senior P.O. in Arresting Gear from Jan 1954 until my discharge in March 1954. I was transferred from USS Franklin D. Roosevelt where I served as an Aviation Boatswain Mate 2 Class. Having spent all my time in the Navy in V3-Gasoline Div., I was shocked to learn I was to be the senior PO in Arresting Gear on the Mindoro. On top of that we shortly left for Gtmo on a shakedown cruise. Thank God for my 3rd Class PO's. They sure kept me out of trouble.

Comments: I would like to hook-up with some sailors aboard the Mindoro during 1949-50. I am active in Montrose reunion group and attend their bi-annual reunions. I have never found any reunion activity for the USS Mindoro CVE 120, any ideas? William Wantuck, Houston, TX

Michael Drury USS Mindoro Crew member

Comments: I am presently composing a little booklet for a friend whos Father served aboard the USS Mindoro.His name was Michael Drury and I beleive he was on the ship somewhere around 1954 and later. If I could get any information about Michael and his ship I would appreciate it. I have seen a muster list of the ship, but his name was not on it.Thank you in advance for your help..
