I used to sell the magazine "Our Navy" and also got a lot of high school diplomas for a number of the guys, who hadn't graduated from HS. Also, gave GED tests for a lot of guys...along with a lot of tests for your rate increases. This site brings back a lot of good memories, considering it all...Pearl, Yokosuka, Manila, Hong Kong, Korea, and let's not leave out San Diego and San Francisco. Contact me, if you know anything about the guys above. Thanks much!

Am looking up the name of a Navy man who was stationed on the USS
Philipine Sea and was drowned on July 12, 1953 at Kamakura Bay,
Japan, while on an R & R.
I don't know where to find his name listed. His name was Robert J.
Lawson and he was my fiance. Because he was not killed in action, will
his name be ommitted from any memorials and if not, why?
Drowned July 12, 1953 in Kamkura Bay, Japan while on liberty. Was
assigned to Phil Sea. He was attached to VC3 out of Moffett Field.
He is buried in Ft. Lewis, Wa. because his father had been in the Army
there at one time.
Thank you very much for your help.
