Those of us who have served after you and seen combat know the difference. I was a young lad when many of you still teenagers went to war. You have never been given credit for what you suffered through. I as an old soldier, salute you for your dedication, your toughness, your will to servive and for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. God Bless you all.

Comments: I am looking more anyone who may have served as a POW with my cousin Wayne (Slim) Caddell in Camp 3. I do not know much about how he was captured or what branch of military he was in. Wayne (Slim) Caddell wrote a song while he was a POW called The Prisoner of War Song. He would sing it in Camp and eventually it spread through out the different camps and was favored by the American POW's. Wayne recored and produced this song in 1984 in Nashville TN. At the time and I think still is the only POW song that has been recorded and produced. I am working on my family genealogy and would appreciate any information on Wayne Caddell that someone may have, stories, military information, how and when he was captured etc. Thank you in advance. Update on email and contact, needed ASAP

This request is on behalf of my Uncle, Graham Bailey, a British
serviceman in the Royal Gloucesters Regiment during the Korean War.

The Gloucesters Regiment was decimated in a battle for a hill alongside
the Imjin River. During this action my uncle, who was fortunate to
survive, was wounded, captured and spent the remainder of the war as a
POW in Camp 3 on the banks of the Yalu River. In early 1952, he met and
became friends with a US serviceman called Charles Egresit (or Egrezit).

As I live in the U.S.A., my uncle has asked me to try and establish
contact with Charles Egresit. Obtaining details of his military record
is one of my main starting points.

Here is all of the reasonably solid information I have on the gentleman:

Name: CHARLES EGRESIT
Branch: USMC (?)
Hometown: PITTSBURGH, PA.
Captured: Early 1952.

HI HAL

i don't actually know what to say,my dad was a p.o.w. in Korea
for 3 yrs he passed away mar 29 of this yr. during all the years i
had him with me (39) i just asked him of his time as a prisoner last
nov. he told me of camp #3 and the things that
happen there and the way the soldiers died and lived. about 3 yrs ago
about 4 or 5 men visited my dad's home and relayed a story of how ,
if it hadn't been for my dad they wouldn't be alive that day to thank
him.

He encouraged and made the other soldiers to live everyday. one of
them even had a picture taken at the camp with the soldiers around
him as he played music.

Is there anyway i can find out more about camp #3 or what I can do
to find out more of what these brave men had to have suffered.

i know i probably get a lot of mail i would be grateful if u could
help me in anyway.

Accoding to AFM 200-2, the plane may have crashed in Sinyon-Ni

not open. Later that day he observed three men in tan uniforms
being marched past his home in sinyon-Ni under escort of four armed
