Keywords: Corporal George E. Doherty was my father. I read a note here from a John Doherty whom it would appear is a relative of mine. I have a brother John who may be his father. I have lost touch with all family members sad to say. I heard that one brother, George, has passed away. Not sure where brother Bob is either. Their mother Nancy lives in Kitchener I believe with Mary, our sister. I have been told by Nancy that she is NOT my mother so I have been trying to clear up the mystery for years. If any of you guys read this, please get in touch. I live in Brampton. You can e mail me at tish.minke@rogers.com. Also very interested in learning gravesite of my father. He died July 12th in Korea - was last Canadian to die. Thank you, Tish

Brian Watters wrote on 2003-06-19 12:18:34.0

Comments: I happened on this page through a Google Search and felt obligated to make a correction to a misleading link I'd found. There is only one Oficial "The Royal Canadian Regiment" home page. here's the link: http://www.army.dnd.ca/RCR_RHQ/English/Homepage/homepage_e.shtm

For anyone interested in the RCR Association web site (which has an extensive message board where you're bound to find old buddies as well as current and upcoming events, the link is http://www.execulink.com/~thercran

Furthermore, if you would like to visit the Official RCR Museum web site, check out our history, and or Links page, please visit at http://www.rcrmuseum.ca

Cheers! And Pro Patria

Comments: My parents were divorced when I was young. I remember holding my fathers UN medal for serving in Korea in my hand when I was 4 yrs old. My father passed on several years ago and I am wanting to find out what he was like... I have just begun my search. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The name which I know him by is Ronald D. Maurice Fisher. I can remember seeing pictures of him with a Royal Canadian Signal Corp Shoulder Flash. Thank-you for taking the time to read this.

Comments: We sailed from Seattle Washington on the American troop ship the U.S.S. Darby in Aug. 52.We sailed with American troops who were also heading for Korea, made many good G.I. friends on the trip. Also fought beside the 1st Calvary Div.who were a great bunch of guys. It really is hard to believe that almost fifty years has gone by , but the memory of those times good and bad will remain with me forever. So for now I will just say , Thank You to all my American buddiesand may God Bless each and every one of you where ever you are. Thanks for the memories!!!

Comments: Corporal George Everett Doherty is my father's father. Not much is known of him by my family, except that he died in Korea on July 12, 1953. My father says that he was the last Canadian to die in the War. I don't know how true this is, but I would like to find out if it is, as well as any other information I can about this man.

Sincerely
