Comments: I was activated in Jan 1951 with the 116th Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron at Dobbins AFB, Marietta, Ga. We were sent to Smyrna AFB Base, at Smyrna, TN to get ready for overseas movement. (POM). I was the supply sergeant in this outfit. The first sergeant was E. L. Crozier and the commanding officer was Joel C. Paris. I write this with the desire to get in touch with some former members of this outfit. Please let me hear from you.

Comments: Mr. Dahle
You are correct, how ever the story does not end there. The 116 Air Control Squadron (CRE) is alive and well in the Oregon Air Guard. The Origional 116 Air Control and Warning Squadron was from Georgia and after Korea was deactivation in 1952 was returned to the National Guard Bureau control. The Oregon Guard picked up the Air Control mission as the 116 TCS at Portland, Oregon in May of 1971. Since reoganization and manning the 116 acs has been permanently stationed at Camp Rilea AFTC, Warrenton, Oregon.

I have a good friend who was with the 116TH TCS in Korea, but I didnt
see it listed on your Web Site with the other units. I enjoyed your
page.
The 116th was an Air Force Tactical Control Squadron during the Korean
War. I believe it was an Air Force National Guard unit out of Georgia.
Thanks
