Mary Jo Tessler wrote on 2010-01-18 09:24:40.0
Comments: My father, Francis (Frank) J Pechauer was an OSU graduate who deployed to Korea in 1955. I am trying to find any information about his time there as I would like to write about it. I know he was in the Army but that is it. I would like to know where in Korea he was stationed as well as the dates he was deployed and when he returned. I would like to also know if anyone is still alive that was in his platoon. He was a Sargent. He was in ROTC as well at OSU in Columbus, Ohio. I know he spent some time in Fort Knox prior to deployment. Any information would be helpful.

Comments: I hope someone can help me, I don't know where else to turn. I was adopted by the Commanding Officer of Johnson AFB from a Catholic Convent and brought back to the USA. I was loved and had a good life. Both of my adoptive parents are deceased. I was born April 1950 in Sapporo, Japan to Japanese woman named Kazuko. I am seeking my father. He would have known my mother at least 9 months prior to April 1950...May God bless all of the brave and caring men that served the Ameican people by fighting against evil, the enemy of all. My Japanese name was Harue.

Ted, It's Dave Again. Actually, I met you today at the Korean War
Memorial with John Charles Hertzberg from VA. We are pushing your home

I have a request for any information on a Walker Melville
Mahurin (could be Mahuren). He was a POW. Fighter Pilot.
Please e-mail info to Martha Ann Clark from DISA clark3m@cc.ims.disa.mil
Thanks,

Ted,
I know nothing about Herzberg. My inquiry is about Walker Melville
"Bud" Mahurin (could be Mahuren), Korean USAF Fighter Pilot, last man
US POW to walk out of Freedom Village (met by Chappie James) at
Panmunjong (sp?). Bud's fighter pilot call sign was "Honest John";
also the name of the book he wrote about his Korean War experiences.
Super thanks on anything you can come up with.

I am looking for information on my grandfather, Richard A. Grablin who
was in the Air Force during the Korean War. I have requested info from
the national archives and received the forms in return, but
unfortunately I do not possess much of the information they require.
I do know that he was born Feb 23, 1921 in Colfax, Iowa and was
stationed as a cadet at Lowry Field in Denver. He was awarded the
Distinguished Flying Cross at some point in his career. I do not know
when he died, or what unit he was with (he was a pilot). Any
information you could provide is greatly appreciated.

1st Lt. John M. Gilbert III
From:
John Gilbert psher6207@s2.sonnet.com
My father, 1st Lt. John M. Gilbert III, was killed in Korea in June of
1951. He was an aviator and was flying C119's. The only information I
have is that the all the planes flying in the formation were involved
in a military accident. I believe that they were hit by allied
artillery.
The official death notification only says, cause of death, aircraft
accident, line of duty, not misconduct. My mother never talked about
it and died when I was very young. I had no contact with any member of
my father's family until I was 18.
All photos and records were destroyed by fire when I was about 4 years
old. At any rate, my father was from Rochester, NY. I subsequently
received many photos and letters but never any details of what really
happened.
I have a newspaper clipping which indicates that three planes were shot
down. Other than that I know very little. If anyone remembers any
incident where some C119's were shot down I would greatly appreciate the
information.
Thank you very much.

Airman John Kunteski, a tail gunner in a B-29, was lost over Korea

A search for his name on your web site has proven futile. No matches
were found. What could have been his fate?
Does anyone even know that he is lost? Birthplace, Riverside, NJ,
present age would be approx 65 years old.
This is a mystery that people in Riverside have been needing to have
