Comments: My father in Law is a vetran of the 7th Cav and I was looking for some historical facts from 1950-51 He was a squad leader who saw a lot of battles in that short period of time. My father in law still has PSTD and is seeing his VA reps regulary. I hope that you can provide me with some historical facts to help him trace back some needed imforamation.

Comments: My Karen Thery/Sorenson,would like to know what her father was doing at Ft Huachuca. He was stationed there from 1951 to 1953. We have not been able to find his unit. All we have is his DD-214. We have contacted the department of the army,but they claim all of his service records were destroyed in the fire at the archives in 1976. Comments: I am searching for information on an uncle I never met. He was with the 21st. Infantry in the Phillipines. He died of schrapnel wounds 31 May 1945. All I know for certain is that he was awarded the Purple Heart on 16 Aug 1945 and the Bronze Star on 10 May 1954. If anyone could give me directions on how I could learn more I would greatly appreciate it.

WW2 Mexican-American soldiers Philippines

Comments: Soldier's surname was Garcia (Mexican-American), landed with Gen. Douglas MacArthur's forces in Lingayen Gulf, Philippines on January 1945. Met him when I was 10 y.o. (am 73 now) when his battalion was marching along the high-way west of the town of Urdaneta, Pangasinan, and they were heading towards Clark Field, an American air base captured by the Japanese in 1942. The Americans were amazed that a kid could speak English and Spanish in the boondocks of the Philippines. Garcia must have been 19-20 y.o. then. I hope he is alive, in good health, and would communicate with me. I still live in the Philippines. Thank you.

Keywords: My grandfather was Leo Joseph O'Brien Jr. from Augusta, Georgia and I know that he was in WW2 (Omaha Beach on D-Day when he was 18 or 19 years old), Korean War and Vietnam. I never had the chance to meet or know more about him and he rarely spoke to my mother and my aunts and uncles so I know very little. He died July 31, 1977. Any help on his unit, etc. would be great.

1960-61 Camp Stanley: Teddy K. Suppe/Shoup/

Comments: I am searching for my biological father, "Teddy K. Soup" (or "Shoup"?) who served in Korea ~1960-61. He and my mom were engaged, but he was given orders and left before they were married.

My moms Korean name was Pong Sun Kim (Kim, Pong Sun). Teddy was originally from Kansas and possibly worked with or knew of Gerald Lee Adams from Lansing, MI. My mom also spoke of a very kind man by the name of Mr. Burnham (I believe he may have been a colonel?)

Thanks in advance for any information anyone could provide in helping find my father.

son looking for my dad's buddies -- korea

Comments: I'm trying to locate anyone who might have served with my father (Sgt. Louis Hester) in the Korean war. Even though he was career army, he spoke little of the war. I've obtained his records and can't really understand the language. The record shows that on 23 July, 1950 his unit was shipped from Ft. Knox to Korea where he was present for 5 campaigns. The unit is listed in his record as "30thOrdHvyMaintCo AFFE." Beyond that I know very little except that he was injured in 1952 and returned to the US, stationed first at Camp Cook, Cal., and then Ft. Lewis, Washington. Would love to hear from anyone who might have known dad.

Comments: I am looking for records of my deceased husband, Donald Lee Ferguson. He served as a draftee in the Army during the Korean War. He was from Fresno California. Don passed away in 1989 in Mexico, but I have not been able to obtain a death certificate in all these years. He was a baseball player and later became a manager for the California Angels minor league. He resided in Northern California and Central California. Any information about him could be helpful to me. Information on veteran

Comments: The Holland Springfield Spencer Historical Society is continuing its project to identify all veterans in all wars. Currently the only name we have for a veteran of the Korean War is Perry J. Hall, b. 12/3/1930 and d. 6/5/2002. He was in the US Army and is buried in the Springfield Township Cemetery (Lucas County), Ohio. Any informnation on him or other veterans would be greatly appreciated.
