Comments: Gentlemen, My name is Anthony Storch. I am currently in post-baccalaureate study at the University of North Florida prior to entering the Masters in History degree program. I intend to concentrate in US Military History and the VeteransÂ’ Memorial Oral History Project is an integral part of my academic program.
I am looking for ANY vets frm the Korean War who live in Florida or S. Georgia who would be interested in telling their stories.
I can send/fax/e-mail an Overview, Script, and Release. AS time passes, veterans depart. I want their stories to be recorded so future generations can learn of their sacrifices. Any assistance you can render will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I know he served at Chosin and believe he had parachuted in at some point. I think he was probable a Sgt at the time. Later in Vietnam He became an officer and retired as a Capt. thanks in advance for any information you may be able to come up with. Sempre Fi

CRISELDO SANCHEZ wrote on 2002-06-05 02:52:18.0
Comments: My father has no internet access. I'm trying to find anyone who might remember him. He arrived in Korea (Bunker Hill, I believe) August 21, 1952 and stayed in combat until July 2, 1953. He was 19 years old. Originally from Denver, Colo. He was a Cpl. Fire Team Leader with "Dog Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines Regiment, First Marine Division. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who might remember him or being there the same time as him. He remembers bringing his company out of a heavily hit area in the later months of 1952. something about reinforced company, made sure all KIA'S, WIA's & all weapons were brought out of that heavily hit area. Remembers watching many young men die around him. If you remember him please e-mail me. I know dad would be thrilled to hear from someone who was there with him. It would mean alot to the entire family. Dad is now 69 years old. losing his hearing, just got a pace maker, suffers from jungle rot etc. but otherwise is doing okay. Hope there is someone out there who will remember something. Thank you very Much. Christine

I was at Koto-ri in Dec 50. I was a Mechanic in the Regt. MT. I observed
the site of a mass grave just below our tent area. We were set up just
where the road turned west after leaving the Mountain range we went
over.
We were hit one night and over run temporary. I only counted about 20
men the best I can remember. I am trying to get map of that area in a
scale that I can pinpoint the site. I know there was a creek just below
the site.
We received an air drop directly over the site earlier. I believe I
mentioned this in a letter I wrote later. Seems like one of the names
was something like Mathinson or something like that and a machine gunner
that was killed when we were overrun. I can still see a couple of the
faces and the position they were froze in. There was an old knocked out
armored tank like vehicle near the site. I always wondered if they were
found or documented.
