Comments: My father fought in Korea from Inchon to Northern Korea. All I know was that he was a cook when in bivouac. His St. Louis records were destroyed in the 70s fire. I have checked other records with USMC, but have found nothing. I last saw him at age five (1964) when he was placed into a VA Mental Hospital. He reported losing many friends to Chinese attacks. I'm retired USAF whose torn achilles tendon wouldn't get me in the Marines.
Thanks

Any input will be greatly appreciated...Before I leave, I do want to thank every individual that has served in Korea because, without your honor to duty, I would not be here. Thanxs

I was at Koto-ri in Dec 50. I was a Mechanic in the Regt. MT. I observed
the site of a mass grave just below our tent area. We were set up just
where the road turned west after leaving the Mountain range we went
over.
We were hit one night and over run temporary. I only counted about 20
men the best I can remember. I am trying to get map of that area in a
scale that I can pinpoint the site. I know there was a creek just below
the site.
We received an air drop directly over the site earlier. I believe I
mentioned this in a letter I wrote later. Seems like one of the names
was something like Mathinson or something like that and a machine gunner
that was killed when we were overrun. I can still see a couple of the
faces and the position they were froze in. There was an old knocked out
armored tank like vehicle near the site. I always wondered if they were
found or documented.
