Comments: I'm serving a 1 years tour in South Korea for the USAF. My Great Uncle fell here back in June 11th 1951. My information search has ended at the "Punchbowl" for a place his unit engaged but I can not confirm it. If anyone has information on the exact place he was killed it would be a blessing. My family would be relieved. Thank you Marines you are the best in the world.

Comments: i knew art as we called him-he wasn' very big but he was tough-he had been a student of my mother in grade school in rosalie ne--we were both in our youth-it was shortly after ww-2. art was very crafty and wasn't scared of anything or anybody. it was the times of our lives that young men are always sizing up everyone else. we were from neighboring towns which was the setting for rivalry, however i always got along well with art and we shared smokes at a time and age when we were not to be smoking so of course that created all the more-the desire for cigs-i scarcely knew of his departure and then he was dead!!

Comments: I am a Military History student at UNT and a former Marine. I am doing research on the Marines in the Korean War. I need to interview some Marine veterans of Korea who now live in Tarrant County, TX, or who lived there when they joined the Corps. Any phase of Korea is fine, 1950-1953. It is vital that the memories of those who were there are not left out of the historical record and too many people today forget or never knew what Korea was like. Any help is greatly appreciated Semper Fi --Josh Montandon

He was my half-brother and I would like to know the circumstances of his wounding. He lost both legs (mine??) and was medically retired at age 18. Unfortunately he committed suicide at Las Vegas in 1965 and is buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. I am looking for ANY vets frm the Korean War who live in Florida or S. Georgia who would be interested in telling their stories.
I can send/fax/e-mail an Overview, Script, and Release. AS time passes, veterans depart. I want their stories to be recorded so future generations can learn of their sacrifices. Any assistance you can render will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Comments: My father has no internet access. I'm trying to find anyone who might remember him. He arrived in Korea (Bunker Hill, I believe) August 21, 1952 and stayed in combat until July 2, 1953. He was 19 years old. Originally from Denver, Colo. He was a Cpl. Fire Team Leader with "Dog Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines Regiment, First Marine Division. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who might remember him or being there the same time as him. He remembers bringing his company out of a heavily hit area in the later months of 1952. something about reinforced company, made sure all KIA'S, WIA's & all weapons were brought out of that heavily hit area. Remembers watching many young men die around him. If you remember him please e-mail me. I know dad would be thrilled to hear from someone who was there with him. It would mean alot to the entire family. Dad is now 69 years old. losing his hearing, just got a pace maker, suffers from jungle rot etc. but otherwise is doing okay. Hope there is someone out there who will remember something. Thank you very Much. Christine

Comments: My father fought in Korea from Inchon to Northern Korea. All I know was that he was a cook when in bivouac. His St. Louis records were destroyed in the 70s fire. I have checked other records with USMC, but have found nothing. I last saw him at age five (1964) when he was placed into a VA Mental Hospital. He reported losing many friends to Chinese attacks. I'm retired USAF whose torn achilles tendon wouldn't get me in the Marines.
Thanks

I was at Koto-ri in Dec 50. I was a Mechanic in the Regt. MT. I observed
the site of a mass grave just below our tent area. We were set up just
where the road turned west after leaving the Mountain range we went
over.
We were hit one night and over run temporary. I only counted about 20
men the best I can remember. I am trying to get map of that area in a
scale that I can pinpoint the site. I know there was a creek just below
the site.
We received an air drop directly over the site earlier. I believe I
mentioned this in a letter I wrote later. Seems like one of the names
was something like Mathinson or something like that and a machine gunner
that was killed when we were overrun. I can still see a couple of the
faces and the position they were froze in. There was an old knocked out
armored tank like vehicle near the site. I always wondered if they were
found or documented.
