Freeman White looking for his buddy, Wayne J. Wood |

Comments: We have begun a history project at our Elementary school recognizing the vital contributions of our military veterans. We have began by interviewing vets from WWII and the Korean War. Will expand to Viet Nam and latest conflicts later. One of the vets interviewed is trying to locate a fellow Marine he served with in Korea. The vet searching is named Freeman White of Devine, Texas. He served with Item Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines carrying (and obviously using it numerous times with effective results!!) a Browning Automatic Rifle (30.06 cal.)Freeman proudly wears a minature purple heart medal on his collar. The Marine he is searching for is Wayne J. Wood. If any of you Korean vets remember Freeman White (a marine about 6'5" or 6'6")or Wayne J. Wood, please email me and I'll pass of the information.

Comments: My father-in-law was Leo Leach. We recently found books he highlighted with his dates of service and hand written details on the battlefields in the Chosin Reservoir area. We think he was there but all he would say is he was in Japan during the Korean War and that his job was to kill Chinese. He was in an artillery unit. Do you know him?

Comments: I have in my possession my fathers picture album for his time in Korea. He was the Co. Gunny for Weapons Co 3/1 during the Korean war, I'm not sure which platoon. His name is Aaron Lee Clemons, and probably went by "Clem". If anyone served with him and would like to see/have copies of these photos I'd be happy to get them to you. A few are labeled on the back, there are a couple of the whole platoon, and many of individuals, most of the labeled.
