Looking for my father |

Comments: Never knew my father, but I received records he may have been in Able or Baker Company, 1st Engineer Bn, 1st Marines FMF. Name was Robert Paul LeFrancois, from West Haven, CT. I believe he was the company cook. Served in the Marines from Nov 49 to Dec 53. I've been unable to get records from St. Louis due to being lost in the fire of 72. Any info would be helpful, if not about him, about the units. Thanks, Bob LeFrancois (USAF Ret)

Comments: Looking for anyone that served with Cpl. Hugh Lee Blalock, "B" Co, 1st Engineer Bn, 1st Marine Div., FMF July '52-May '53. He was my granddad and passed away on Jan. 6, 2009 from cancer, a day after his 79th birthday. Very rarely would he say anything about his time in service. Looking for anyone who may have served with him. Graduated from basic at Parris Island, Platoon 344 with date of Oct. 11th, 1951. I have the picture of his graduating class.

Comments: Looking for a Marine, serving in Korea, latter part of 1952, named Corporal Idhe (don't remember his first name) We were in "C" Company, 1st Engineer Bn. and went on night patrol together early October 1952 with "I" Co. 7th Marines. Got ambushed by CCF probably on "Frisco" (but not absolutely sure) about midnight. Many casualties including Cpl. Ihde. He was evacuated, and I never saw him again. I believe he lived in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, but not absolutely sure. If anyone sees this and lives around Milwaukee maybe you can check out my request. I'm ready to turn age 79 so Cpl. Ihde, if he is still around would be about that age too. Luckily it's sort of an odd last name, so that might make him easier to find. Really SORRY about not remembering his first name. I don't know how badly he was wounded, but it must have been pretty serious, since he never returned to our unit.

Comments: Anybody still around who was in Charlie Company, 1st Engineers, in roughly August 1952 to August 1953? Our unit was named "Camp Kimbrough" after Jim Kimbrough who was KIA in September 1953 while on night patrol with the infantry(Probably the 7th Marines). Anyone remember Jim?.... "The good die young".

Comments: I'm looking for a man who was a Military Police in the Marine Corp and was stationed at Okinawa, Japan during 1945. He was then sent to Korea. We have a picture of him but don't really have a name. We think his last name is "Jenks" and we know he was from Hawaii. He was involved with a Japanese women during this time and got her pregnant so the daughter is looking to find this man or any relatives he may have. We think he is around 90 years old so he may be deceased.

Comments: I was wounded along with another Marine at the Naktong River on or about September 6, 1950. A "one-lung Charlie" flew over our heads and dropped a bomb that exploded just above us. I received a perforated ear-drum and the other Marine received schrapnel to the forehead. I believe he was one of those younger guys and that he was later in in Japan at the re-training center. If anyone knows who this fella might be, or how we can contact him we would be very greatful.
