Comments: Seeking information on USMC Pfc L. S. Hart from Washington state. Served with my father Pfc Robert Lehman. Hart was severely wounded after relieving my father at a forward position. A USN Corpsman reported that Hart's wound was fatal; he was included in a memorial service held in the field. But Hart is not listed as KIA in any place I have looked, and the casualty card, which I received a decade ago, indicates that Hart had been evacuated to the USN hospital ship Hope for transport to US.

Comments: Booker T. Washington was the first one that I met on the MLR, and we stayed friends throughout the war. When we were down in Pan Mon Jum area to get the chinese off of the peace zone line the Doc was right behind Booker as he fired the Brownie Automatic Weapon (BAR). We fought our way out!

REMEMBER T.Sgt. STROPES @Chosin? |

Sherrill Stropes wrote on 2006-06-11 17:51:27.0
Comments: Aloha from the beautiful Big Island!
My dad, Marine Corps T.Sgt. Dale STROPES was killed at Chosin on December 3rd, 1950. He received the NAVY CROSS and SILVER STAR in Korea.
I was born 2 months later, so I never knew my dad and my mother's remembrances have always seemed limited. She is now suffering from severe Alzheimer's, so any chance of learning anything more from her about my father is gone. Also gone are all relatives whoever knew him in Illinois. My older brother was too little to remember Stropes (as he was called).
If you knew my dad, would you PLEASE contact me? I'd be most grateful. Semper Fi.....Sherrill Stropes
