Comments: My grandfather (who which i have the same name) Roger Thompson, died in the 90's and im just trying to learn more about him. My father doesnt tell me much about him and what he did. He served in korea and japan, he also made payroll deliveries overseas. I dont know his rank exactly but he was rather high up. He was also part of admiral birds expeidition to the antarctic. Just wondered if any one had any information on him. Thanks.

I'd like to get in touch with anyone who served in the 4.2 Mortars,
5th Marines, between February 1952 and February
1953. I was a radio operator.

A small group of us went caroling on Christmas Eve while in reserve
in 1952. While in reserve during the summer of 1952, we created
a swimming hole by damming the stream that flowed through
the reserve area.

I'd like to know where you guys are, how you've been, and to
exchange memories.
