Comments: Looking for information about my uncle John who lived with us in Renton, WA after his discharge. He was born 1933 in Advance, Missouri; died 1964 in Seattle, Washington; boot camp in Camp Pendleton (San Diego, CA) and served in Korea, but I have no details. He has two surviving sons who would like to know about their dad's service history.
Thank you.

Last communication from Don Rose was his 27 December 1956 letter from "The Sun-Telegram" San Bernardino, Calif. Am anxious to reconnect with Don. Would appreciate any information anyone can provide how I might be able to do that.

Comments: My father was a Company Corpsman with G 3/7 between '51-'52, and he frequently spoke with an unabashed fondness for the "Four-Deuce," or 4.2" mortar. While a Corpsman with 2/7 in the '70's, at Camp Pendleton, I had the opportunity to fire both the 60- and 81mm mortar, but never once saw a 4.2. Now, very recently, a Marine-pal who was with lstMarDiv., in Vietnam, has asked me to try and gather dope on the 4.2, and I'm not sure just where to turn. Can anyone out there lend me a hand?

Comments: I'm looking to make contact with anyone from my father's unit and/or circle of friends from Lejeune and Korea. He joined USMC in August 1950 and served in Korea for most of 1952. He was the squad leader for the 1st and 2nd squads of the 1st platoon, Weapons Company, 7th Marines. His squads were usually supporting Gorge, Howe, & Item Co., 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines. He often speaks of the terrible battle for The Hook in October, 1952. I'm in the process of writing a book on my father's experiences in the Corps and in Korera and would love to hear some stories from some of his buddies. More importantly, I would like to get him back in touch with his friends.
