Comments: I am an active duty Army Captain currently serving in 1-6 Cavalry (Apache Helicopters) in Korea near Wonju. My grandfather, John Scepanski (also spelled Szczepanski) served as a First Sergeant in the Marine Corps in the 1st Marine Wing (?)in Pohang years ago. I believe he was involved in supply somehow. I am headed to Pohang next month and would like to find out more about his unit and see if I can take some good pictures or find some memorabilia. If anyone knows anything that can help me or would like any pictures, etc. from Korea today, please write me. I will gratefully answer all emails and letters I receive. Thank you!

I arrived at K-3 on July 29 1953 and was in the MP`s there until Sept of 54. They called me "Tennessee" (when they were`nt mad at me. LOL)
My only claim to "fame" was that Capt. Ted Williams chewed me out one night when he was on O.D. for having my hands in my pockets while on main gate duty.
Don`t remember any names except Sgt Donahue from either Wshington or Oregon I believe. If you remember, give me a shout!

Marine Air Group 33
Hal,
I am trying to get any information about missing US Marine flyers that
may have been taken to Siberia. My father was shot down July 15, 1952
0315.
He is Master Sgt. Robert L Kappelmann #836776 and flew with Marine All
Weather Sqd 513, Marine Aircraft Group 33: 1st Marine Aircrft Wing FMF.
I have gone through most normal channels and even attended the MIA
hearing on the day set aside for Korean MIAs/POWs. Aside from learning
there was likely several boxcars of USA flyers sent to Siberria, I learn
little else.
If you can provide any information or suggest groups that might be
helpful I would appreciated it.
My Email address maybe changing to
kapprl@jea.ci.jax.fl.us
Sincerely,
Bob Kappelmann
